Paradise Segasammy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Paradise City”) greatly values its guests’ personal information, and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act.
In this Personal Information Policy, Paradise City informs the purpose and method of using the guests’ personal information and the measures taken for personal information protection.

Article 1 (Scope and method of collecting personal information)
  • 1. Scope of collecting personal information
    • A. Paradise City collects personal information to the minimum extent necessary to provide service.
    • B. Paradise City does not collect sensitive personal information whose collection could violate a Member’s basic human rights (e.g., race and ethnicity, ideology and creed, place of birth and permanent address, political inclination, criminal record, health condition, and sexuality).

Article 3 (Period of keeping and using personal information, and destruction of personal information)
  • 1. When the purpose of collecting or receiving a Member’s personal information is achieved, Paradise City promptly destroys the personal information. The specific timing of destroying personal information is as follows.
    • A. Membership subscription information is kept for 1 year to provide service to returning guests after the Membership withdrawal (internal policy).
    • B. Information on the use of guest rooms is kept for 5 years to provide service to returning guests (internal policy).
    • C. Shipping information is kept until delivery or provision of goods or services.
    • D. Personal information collected for surveys, events, etc. is kept until completion of the surveys, events, etc.
  • 2. However, if personal information needs to be kept for a certain period for reasons such as checking transaction-related rights and obligations as follows under applicable laws such as the Commercial Act, Paradise City does so.
    • A. Records on contract, offer withdrawal, etc.: 5 years
    • B. Records on payment and on supply of goods and services: 5 years
    • C. Records on handling of consumers’ complaints or disputes: 3 years
  • 3. Implementing the personal information usage period system
    • A. Paradise City, under Article 29 Paragraph 2 of the Act on Promotion of Information & Communications Network Utilization and Protection of Information and Article 16 of the former’s Enforcement Decree (amended), keeps the personal information of online Members that have not used its services for 1 year or more. This information is kept separate from other information.
  • 4. Destroying method
    • A. Print-out personal information: Shredding (by a shredder machine) or incineration
    • B. Personal information stored in the form of an electronic file: Delete by a technical method that disallows reproduction of the records
Article 4 (Sharing personal information)
  • 1. Unless a Member gives consent or unless under applicable laws, Paradise City does not in any circumstance use a Member’s personal information or share it with another person, company, or institution outside of the scope defined in the “Purpose of collecting and using personal information.”
    To share a Member’s personal information through business partnering or alliance, Paradise City gives prior and individual notice concerning the party receiving or sharing the information and its main business, the personal information items shared, the purpose of sharing the information, etc. to the Member by email or in writing and then obtains his/her consent. Paradise City only shares personal information with third parties for its unique services. Unless the aforementioned consent is obtained, provision and use of its normal services may be impossible.
  • 2. In any of the following cases, Paradise City may share a Member’s personal information without his/her consent, pursuant to applicable laws.
    • A. It is necessary for payment of prices (points) and shipping of products as a result of provision of service.
    • B. Any personal information necessary for statistics, academic research, or market surveys is shared in a form in which a specific individual cannot be identified
    • C. It is required by the law, or required by a crime investigation agency pursuant to the procedure and method of law for crime investigation purposes

Article 5 (Personal information-processing contractors)
  • 1. To provide services, Paradise City contracts or outsources personal information processing as follows. Paradise City provides for necessary matters in the outsourcing contract pursuant to applicable laws so that personal information can be safely managed.

For the safe protection of personal information, Paradise City clearly provides for strict compliance with personal information protection-related directions, prohibitions concerning personal information, and liabilities in the contracts with contractors, and keeps the contracts in writing. In case of a change in contractors, Paradise City announces the new contractor(s) in this Personal Information Policy screen on its homepage.
  • 3. So that the processing-outsourced personal information can safely be managed, Paradise City shall appropriately supervise whether the contractors diligently perform the aforesaid provisions within the scope of outsourcing.
Article 6 (Viewing and correction of personal information, Membership withdrawal, and consent to withdrawal)
  • 1. A Member may at any time view or correct his/her personal information registered, or withdraw his/her Membership.
    • A. An online Member may revise his/her personal information and withdraw his/her Membership on Paradise City’s homepage ([My Page] menu).
    • B. A request made on the premises of Paradise City or by phone shall expediently be handled after identity verification.

  • 2. Where a Member requests correction of errors in his/her personal information, Paradise City does not use or provide the relevant personal information until the correction is completed. If the erroneous personal information has already been provided to a third party, then a notice shall promptly be given to the third party so that correction will be made.
Article 7 (Utilization of cookies)
  • 1. Paradise City utilizes “cookies” that from store and retrieve a Member’s information from time to time. Cookies, tiny text files which a server used to operate Paradise City’s website, are transmitted to a Member’s browser and stored in a Member’s computer hard disk.
  • 2. Paradise City utilizes cookies for the following purposes.
    • A. Analyze a Member’s and non-Member’s frequency of access or hours of visit and identify a user’s preference and area of interest. The result is then used as criteria for target marketing, service reshuffling, etc.
    • B. Track the information on Paradise City and services in which a Member has shown interest. The result is then used to provide customized services next time.
    • C. Identify a Member’s degree of participation and number of visits in various events conducted by Paradise City. The result is then used to provide differentiated opportunities for participation and differentiated information befitting an individual’s area of interest.
    • D. A Member can choose whether to install cookies. A Member, by setting options in the web browser, may permit all cookies, require confirmation whenever a cookie is stored, or refuse storage of any cookies.
  • - How to designate whether cookie installation is permitted [In the case of Internet Explorer 9.0]
    • 1. In the [Tools] menu, choose [Internet options].
    • 2. Click the [personal information tab].
    • 3. Set the [personal information protection level].
    • If a Member refuses installation of cookies, however, Paradise City will have difficulties in providing services.
Article 8 (Personal information protection for children below 14 years of age)
  • 1. Paradise City does not collect personal information from a child below 14 years of age. To otherwise collect information from such a child in connection with hotel business, Paradise City shall comply with applicable laws and government announcements.
Article 9 (Personnel in charge of personal information)
  • 1. To protect Members’ personal information, Paradise City collects opinions on personal information. To handle complaints, Paradise City has designated a chief personal information officer as follows.

Article 10 (Technical/administrative measures to protect personal information)
  • 1. When processing a Member’s personal information, Paradise City takes the following technical measures to secure safety so that the personal information will not be lost, stolen, leaked, altered without authorization, or damaged.
    • A. A user’s personal information is protected by password, and important data is protected through a separate security function by use of file/data encryption or file locking.
    • B. Paradise City adopts a security device that can safely transmit personal information over the network by use of a password algorithm (Secure Socket Layer).
    • C. To prevent a user’s personal information from being leaked through hacking, etc., Paradise City uses a double firewall to block unauthorized access from the outside. It has also installed an anti-intrusion system for each server for 24-hour (24/7) intrusion monitoring.
  • 2. Paradise City restricts its personal information processing personnel to a minimum, emphasizes compliance with this Policy through education—from time to time—of the relevant personnel. If Paradise City finds any related problems, it promptly makes corrections.
    • A. Paradise City shall not be liable for errors made by a Member or the inherent risks of the Internet. Each Member shall appropriately manage, and be responsible for, his/her personal information.
    • B. If any personal information is lost, leaked, altered without authorization, or damaged due to Paradise City personnel’s error or a technical/administrative problem, then Paradise City shall immediately notify the user, take appropriate measures, and make appropriate compensations.
Article 11 (Transmission of advertising information)
  • 1. Paradise City does not transmit for-profit advertising information against a guest’s express refusal to receive it.
  • 2. To transmit any advertising information by a method such as email for online marketing (e.g., provision of product information), Paradise includes the following in the email’s title and main text so that the guest can easily identify the advertising information.
    • Email title: Indicate the word “advertisement” and the transmitter’s name.
    • Email main text: Specify the name, email address, phone number, and address of the transmitter against whom the user can refuse to receive the advertising information. Specify the methods by which the user can easily refuse to receive the information.
  • 3. To transmit to a guest having consented to receiving of advertisement any for-profit advertising information by a method (e.g., fax, text message) other than email, Paradise City takes necessary measures such as indicating the transmitter’s name.
Article 12 (Obligation to notify)

Addition to, deletion from, and changes in, this Personal Information Policy due to the enactment/amendment of laws, changes in government policies, changes in Paradise City’s internal policies, or changes in security technology shall promptly be announced on Paradise City’s homepage.

Paradise Rewards Membership Terms of Use (Required)

Paradise Rewards Terms and Conditions

Article 1 Purpose

The purpose of these Terms and Conditions is to set forth matters including terms of membership, use of the service and all rights related to the services provided to the members of Paradise Rewards (hereinafter referred to as "Membership") operated by Paradise Hotels & Resorts (hereinafter referred to as “Hotel”).

 

Article 2 Enrollment and Membership

1. All customers (including foreigners) who use the Hotel are eligible for Membership, and there is no membership fee. However, minors are not eligible to join Membership.

2. Application designated by the Hotel must be completed and you must agree to the terms of use of personal information for the Membership card to be issued to complete the enrollment process.

3. If you have lost the Membership, you may have the card re-issued after undergoing identification process at the front desk of the Hotel.

4. Existing Members (with paid Membership) are also eligible for membership.  However, membership through groups such as travel agencies or commission-based accommodation agencies is not eligible.

5. Members are required to comply with the terms and conditions set forth in this Service.  Members who enter false information at the time of enrollment may be subject to restrictions on legal protection and Hotel's services.

6. The point class will be updated in accordance with accumulated points.

 

Article 3 Membership cancellation and revocation

1. Members may withdraw from membership in writing, e-mail, or other means, and all Member accounts and points earned at the time of withdrawal shall expire.

2. Hotel may suspend or revoke Membership status for the following reasons:

1) If the contents of the application are different from the facts

2) If the accumulation and use of the points have been conducted in an unjustified manner.

3) If obligation of the member under this agreement has been violated

4) If the normal operation of the Hotel has been interfered with

5) When the Member dies

3. If the Member withdraws from membership in the manner set forth in Article 3(1) of this Agreement, the remaining accumulated points by the time of the withdrawal request will automatically expire.

 

Article 4 Point Saving and Usage

1. Point Saving

1) Points cannot be earned for the amounts paid prior to issuing the Membership card.

2) To earn points, you are required to present your Membership card.

3) You can earn the following points based on the services and products provided by the hotel.

i). When you use the room, the rate of accumulation depends on your point class.

A. RED Members: 1% of room charge (excluding VAT)

B. PURPLE Members: 2% of room charge (excluding VAT)

C. GOLD Members: 3% of room charges (excluding VAT)

D. Points cannot be earned when a room is booked through a travel agency or group.

E. When you book a room through a special contractor, the rate of point saving designated by the PARADISE BUSINESS REWARDS will be applied for your point earning regardless of your point class.

ii) When you purchase foods and beverages and activities, the rate of accumulation depends on your point class.

A. RED Members: 1% of food and beverage and activity charge (excluding VAT)

B. PURPLE Members: 2% of food and beverage and activity charge (excluding VAT)

C. GOLD Members: 3% food and beverage and activity charge (excluding VAT)

①  If you use 10,000 points or more, you will earn 5% payback on the used points.

If you use benefits from other affiliate cards and vouchers, you will earn points based on the payments minus VAT and relative amounts.

iii) Purchases not eligible for points earned

- Amount paid for rent, membership fee, and banquet fee

- Club Lounge room rental, business center use, and valet parking

- More than 5 rooms per day, amount of use of the room phone, and additional cost from other rooms

- Class fees, equipment rental, and amount of use

- Amount of vouchers provided by external vendors

4) Members will earn points only for their own use and for their own payment.

5) Points cannot be divided or duplicated (only one can person can earn point from one bill)

6) Earning points will be processed on the next business day after the date payment is made after the closing of business of the hotel.

7) Points cannot be earned for purchases of the hotel's own accommodation vouchers or value vouchers, but they can be earned on payments through the hotel's own accommodation vouchers and value voucher or through gift certificates from other companies.

8) If you use the points for some or all of the payments for using the Hotel, you cannot earn points for the points used.

9) If existing Members (paid Membership) are joined in duplicate, duplicate discounts are not allowed, and the highest discount rate is applied.  Points can be earned after deducting the discount amount.

10) Additional points can be rewarded and credited depending on various campaigns conducted by the Hotel.

11) Members can earn points for up to 5 rooms per day. However, all rooms must be booked with the name of Member, the Member must stay in one of the rooms, and the Member must pay for all of the rooms in one bill.

12) Points can only be earned on the same day at the Hotel.  Retroactive accumulation of points and correction and confirmation of corrections can be done through the Hotel Mileage Center within one month from the date of points earned.

13) At most 2 million points may be saved per day, and in total, up to 10 million points may be saved.

14) Points earning may be subject to certain limitations on special promotions.

 

2. Point Usage

1) When using points, you must present your membership card.

2) Points can only be used on the premises of the hotel (not including leased spaces).  Points cannot be used in other places.

3) Points may be used in unit of 1-point if at least 3,000 points have been earned.

4) One point is equal to 1 KRW, and points cannot be divided to be used by 2 or more persons (2 persons cannot use points for one Bill).

5) Points may not be transferred, loaned or used as securities.

6) Discounts and points can be used simultaneously when paying for services and products. However, duplicate discounts cannot be applied in case of duplicate membership (paid memberships) in the Hotel, and only the highest discount rate will be applied.

7) The points are valid for a period of 24 months from the date points are earned, and points will be expired monthly on first-in-first-out basis after such 24-month period.

8) Members can modify and check points through Hotel Mileage Center within 10 days from the date of use in event any modification is required.

9) Accumulated points can be exchanged for free stays and buffet meals as stipulated in the terms and conditions.  Provided, however, points cannot be paid in cash.

10) Points may be used to pay for the sauna admission regardless of the point class.  The points used will be deducted.

 

Article 5 Point Class and Benefits

1. Point classes are evaluated and reflected every three months from the month of member’s enrollment. The benefits from the class adjustment are available for one year from the date of adjustment.

2. Benefits from point class will automatically expire if not used during this period.  The points may be re-issued and the period may not be extended.

3. All benefits are embedded in the Membership Card. Please present your membership card when using the points. (Only the member may use the membership card)

4. RED Members and Benefits

1) When the initial membership is completed, you will be registered as a RED member.

2) RED members will receive the following benefits.

a. A 5% discount is available on food and beverage and bakery.

① Purchased products and other promotional products are not included.

b. A 2% discount is available at Rubik.

c. In-room wireless internet is available free of charge.

d. Play Station Zone is free of charge in the room.

5. PURPLE Members and Benefits

1) If you accumulate 50,000 points or more after membership enrollment, your membership will be upgraded to PURPLE class.  Your purple class will be maintained if you earn at least 30,000 points over the following 12 months.

2) The following benefits are offered for PURPLE Members.

a. One complimentary room upgrade is provided once a year.

① Not available on: Friday, Saturday, day before holiday, top-peak season (7/28 - 8/5, 12/24) and New Year holiday season (12/29 ~ 31).

(The dates may vary from year to year.)

② Free upgrade of the room is allowed up to 1 night for one stay.

③ You can use it when you book your room directly and limitations will apply if reservation is made through online booking agency.

④ The upgrade is limited only up to the Corner Suite.

b. A 5% discount is available on food and beverage and bakery.

① Purchased products and other promotional products are not included.

c. One on-the-plate (buffet) breakfast voucher for 2 persons will be provided.

① Vouchers are based on weekend prices.

Maximum 2 people for one ticket.

Not available on: top-peak season (7/28 ~ 8/5, 12/24), New Year holiday season (12/29 ~ 12/31) (the above dates may vary by year.)

Any charge not covered by a voucher may be a subject for discount rate or point saving.   

d. One voucher for two glasses of Rubik Signature cocktails will be provided per year.

① Up to two glasses may be used per one voucher.

e. In-room wireless internet is available free of charge.

f. A 3% discount is available at Rubik.

g. Play Station Zone is free of charge in the room.

6. GOLD Members and Benefits

1) If you accumulate 150,000 points or more after membership enrollment, your membership will be upgraded to GOLD. Your gold class will be maintained if you earn at least 90,000 points over the following 12 months.

2) The following benefits are offered for GOLD Members.

a. Two complimentary room upgrades are provided once a year

① Not available on: Friday, Saturday, day before holiday, top-peak season (7/28 - 8/5, 12/24) New Year holiday season (12/29 ~ 12/31).

(The dates may vary from year to year.)

② Free upgrade of the room is allowed up to 1 night for one stay.

③ You can use it when you book your room directly and limitations will apply if reservation is made through online booking agency.

④ The upgrade is limited only up to the Corner Suite.

b. A 10% discount is available on food and beverage and bakery.

① Liquors are not included in the discount.

② Purchased products and other promotional products are not included.

c. Two on-the-plate (buffet) breakfast vouchers will be provided.

① Tickets are based on weekend prices.

② Maximum 2 people for one ticket.

Not available on: top-peak season (7/28 ~ 8/5, 12/24), New Year holiday season (12/29 ~ 12/31) (the above dates may vary by year.)

Any charge not covered by a voucher may be a subject for discount rate or point saving.

d. Two vouchers for Rubik Signature cocktails will be provided per year.

① Up to two glasses may be used per one voucher.

e. A 5% discount is available at Rubik.

f. Two one-week parking vouchers will be provided

① Free parking is for one week only (168 hours), and there will be an additional charge of 20,000 won per day beyond the one week period.

g. In-room wireless internet is available free of charge.

h. Play Station Zone is free of charge in the room.

 

7.  Places where points may not be used

1) Regardless of the point class, discounts are not available for food and beverage in the following cases.

a. Banquet events, poolside bar, room service, limited-time summer events, and special promotions

b. Bakery “Garden Cafe": Imports and some items, and confectionery and baking event

 

Article 6 Use and Management of Membership Cards

1. Please present your membership card in order to use it

2. Hotel may ask for identification to confirm identity of the member, and members are required to comply with Hotel's request in order to receive appropriate service.

3. Only members can use the Membership card and may not be loaned, assigned or used as security

4. The member shall manage his/her membership card at his/her own responsibility. If the member's card is damaged, lost or stolen due to the willful act or negligence of the member, the member must notify the Hotel Mileage Center immediately.

5. No liability is assumed by the Hotel in relation to any damages and indemnities resulting from the use of the Membership Card in violation of the Terms and Conditions.

6. When changing the address and other information of the Member, the member has the obligation to notify the Hotel.  The Hotel will not be responsible for any unfavorable treatment resulting from the Member’s failure to provide the notice.

 

Article 7 Membership Rights

1. The point accumulation status is displayed at the bottom of the receipt when payment is made. You can also check the status via our website and by phone through the Hotel Mileage Center.

2. The Member has the right to inquire at the Hotel about the various benefits and points, and the Hotel may notify the Members of the contents of the program and the information about the changes through appropriate means.  In the case of notice by post, Hotel shall not be liable for any unfavorable treatments caused by loss or delay.

 

Article 8 Amendment of Membership Service Terms and Conditions

1. The Hotel reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions of Use for the smooth operation of the Membership Service, which shall be effective for all Members.

2. If the related conditions of the Membership Terms and Conditions of Service are modified and amended due to reasons attributable to the Hotel, the contents shall be notified to the Members through e-mail or website.  The changes will become effective after 15 days from such notice.

 

Article 9 Termination of Membership Service

1. The Hotel reserves the right to suspend the Membership Service for the purpose of smooth operation.

2. The service will be provided until the service end date determined at the Hotel's discretion.  The Hotel may terminate Membership services due to the Hotel's circumstances by notifying the members by e-mail or through website 6 months in advance.

3. After the service end date, members will not be entitled to the benefits of the membership service. Points must be used by the specified date designated by the hotel.  Unused points will be automatically canceled.


Article 10 Protection of Personal Information

1. The Hotel shall comply with the related laws and regulations of the Hotel and the privacy policy of the Hotel in order to protect the personal information of the users including the user registration information as stipulated by related laws and regulations.

2. In order to provide better service to its members, the Hotel may use personal information within the scope of the member's consent for collection, provision and use of personal information.

3. The Hotel shall conduct the business of collecting and handling personal information, etc., directly.  However, if necessary, some or all of the above tasks may be entrusted to a company selected by the Hotel.

4. Hotel shall not be liable for any damages caused by changes in personal information provided to the Hotel and caused by delayed notification of change.


Article 11 Responsibility for breach of Terms and Conditions

Any liability arising from any breach of the terms and conditions set forth in these Terms and Conditions shall be borne by the breaching party who shall provide compensation for any damages to the other party.

 

Article 12 Construction and Jurisdiction

1. The Membership Service is conducted as an accommodation for the customers who use the Hotel.  In consideration of free granting of points, the customers must consent to reflecting the position of Hotel in the construction and application of the Terms and Conditions.

2. Disputes relating to these Terms and Conditions shall be submitted to the court designated by the Hotel.
